This is a celebration of the international achievement to map the human genome. A truly awe-inspiring project of exploration that has been compared to the Apollo program in terms of accomplishment. The implications for the ability to treat, cure and even prevent diseases is incredibly exciting.

Each of the poles forming the structure of this sculpture represent a human chromosome, the coloured areas indicating genetic similarities between humans and mice, the study of which has the potential to help achieve these goals.
