Hungover after the Ribble Valley Business Awards and with the rain lashing the windows, I can't have been the most lively and upbeat subject that Simon has ever photographed. So it's testament to his skill behind the lens that he has managed to create such striking images.

Simon is a photographer with a broad portfolio, including sweeping landscapes, vibrant abstracts and moody portraits. I was lucky enough to have been invited to have a shoot in my garage studio as part of Simon's ongoing project, documenting the people and processes that pique his curiosity, whether that is due to a specialist craft or a particularly challenging situation.

Simon sells in galleries around Lancashire and also takes commissions. His calm and considered approach makes the experience very relaxed and enjoyable. Even with a hangover.

The results speak for themselves.
